Cristino Tapia, often credited under the pseudonym L. Cabral, was an Argentine singer, guitarist, and composer born on July 4, 1892 in Estancia de Guadalupe, Córdoba, Argentina. He made his mark in early 20th-century Argentine folk and tango traditions, writing and performing songs that blended the evocative rhythms and melodies of regional music. His works include tonadas and valses that reflect the musical heritage of northern Argentina. Tapia passed away on August 7, 1972, leaving behind a catalogue of compositions that remain part of Argentina’s rich musical tapestry.
