Jorian van Nee was born on 13 December 1999. He studied piano at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Frank Peters. His previous teachers were David Kuyken at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Henk Ekkel at the Academie Muzikaal Talent, Huub de Leeuw and Kirsten van Os. He took master classes from Igor Roma, Ronald Brautigam and Jan Wijn, among others. He also took several composition lessons with Willem Jeths. Jorian performs regularly, both solo and in ensembles. He has also played several times with orchestras such as the Residentie Orkest in The Hague and Sinfonia Rotterdam. He has been heard several times on the radio, including on Radio 4 Muziekwijzer and Spiegelzaal. He appeared on TV at De Wereld Draait Door and Podium Witteman. Jorian also composes himself and has already played his own work live on Radio 4. In 2013, he won a first prize at the Prinses Christina Concours while he also received a first prize at the Prinses Christina Composition Concours for two of his own piano pieces. In 2015, he won the prize for best accompaniment at the Princess Christina Competition. He also won prizes at the Peter the Great festival and the Young Pianist Foundation competition. Besides solo concerts, he plays with Katie Morgan in the piano duo MorganvanNee with which they won the Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours. He is in great demand as a duo partner and accompanist, for instance with Sasha Witteveen, Noëlle Drost, Thomas Prechal, Florianne Remme, Emma and Katja Naegele, and the Audax trio. He regularly writes his own works for solo and duo to be performed at concerts. Jorian has a Bechstein grand piano from the National Musical Instruments Fund.
