Bernadeta Astari (1988) is a Jakarta-born soprano with a wide range of vocal abilities and winner of prestigious prizes, such as the Dutch Classical Talent Competition 2012 at the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Youth Prize at the final of 49th International Vocal Competition ‘s-Hertogenbosch. She came to The Netherlands in 2006 and graduated her Master’s studies with honors in classical singing from Utrecht Conservatory of Music in 2012. She became a member of Opera Studio Netherlands right after, and then continued as one of the Soloist Ensemble of the Dutch Touring Opera Company (Nederlandse Reisopera). Bernadeta has performed among other roles, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, First Fairy & Spring in Fairy Queen, Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia, and L’amour in Orphée et Eurydice. She also participates in both traditional recitals and cross-over productions, such as LIGHT, a dance opera by LeineRoebana, Voyager One, a music theatre production by Touki Delphine and Theater Rotterdam, newly written operas Gadis Pantai by Gatot Sulistyo with Philharmonie Zuidnederland and Kill the West in me, Kartini & Katini by Boudewijn Tarenskeen & Jonas Bisquert with Gamelan Ensemble Gending & het Doelen Kwartet. As a concert soloist, Bernadeta has been performing with renowned orchestras such as the Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra, Camerata RCO, philharmonie zuidnederland, and Nederlands Blazers Ensemble. She has been performing in festivals such as Grachtenfestival, International Chamber Music festival Utrecht, November Music, Wonderfeel, Klassifest, Down the Rabbit Hole, Oerol, Over het IJ Festival, and Samosir Musicfest in Indonesia. She has recorded an art song CD “Perjalanan” with her lied duo partner, Kanako Inoue and featured in “Tembang Puitik”, an Indonesian classical vocal album with Ananda Sukarlan in 2012. In 2015 she released an album Les Illuminations with the Britten Youth String Orchestra from The Netherlands. Soon she will be releasing albums with Touki Delphine, a music theater group from Amsterdam and with Enrike Solinis & Euskal Barrokensemble. Currently she is member of Les Sélénites Baroque Ensemble and a folk-classical group ROOTS with Dominique Vleeshouwers and Dana Zemtsov.
